One step forward....two back
I've been very motivated lately at the prospect of this upcoming PT test I have on Monday. Today I got a sharp slap from reality when I had possibly the worst run I've had in weeks. Its hard not to get a little disappointed when I've been doing pretty well. Considering the fact that I have only been running just under 2 months. Progress is a long road with many bends.... *sigh*

Yet another break (and another year)
Ok let's recap shall we? Around this time last year...
1) I (unknowingly) tore my ACL which resulted in...
2) lots of physical therapy....and then...
3) Surgery (pain, ouch)...and then....
4) more physical therapy (aka more pain)....
And here we are ONE YEAR LATER.
1) I'm walking sort of normally (I am bad about stretching...I know).
2) I'm running again (at about a 10 minute mile which is better than the 13:30 I started at a few months ago).
3) My life couldn't be more different.
I'm going to put this down on here for posterity's sake but yes. I am truly and unconditionally HAPPY for the first time in a long time. I have some people to thank for that but we won't mention any names. Let's just say, I now know what I've been missing out on. It took a minute but going thru all of this with my leg, some personal things, some family garbage and letting people in has changed me in a way that can't be undone.
And now...
Big things are happening. I got accepted into a fellowship I really wanted for Critical Care. I'm going to be an ER nurse if I'm lucky :) Which is what I've wanted to do since I became a nurse. And I'm coming back home to do it.
It couldn't get better. Well that's not true there could be some things that would make it better but I cannot complain.
Oh and next week....
I'm going to Disney World....woot!!
